Protect your recovery seed ↓
THE MOST IMPORTANT PART

Your recovery seed
is the master key.

Anyone with your recovery seed can access your wallet. Trezor support will never ask you to enter it online or share it with anyone.

✓

Write it offline

Use the backup method shown on your device. Keep the words away from cameras and connected devices.

✓

Keep it private

Store the backup securely. Do not share it with friends, support agents, websites, or apps.

Ignore urgent requests

Messages demanding your seed or asking you to “validate” your wallet are scams. Stop and verify through official channels.

SELF-CUSTODY
BEGINS WITH YOU ✳
A LITTLE CONTEXT GOES A LONG WAY

What self-custody
really means.

A hardware wallet keeps your private keys protected on a dedicated device, separate from the internet-connected apps you use every day. Trezor Suite gives you an interface to check balances and prepare transactions, while your device is where you review and approve them. That separation helps you stay in charge of authorization.

Crypto transactions are generally irreversible once confirmed. Before you approve one, take a moment to read the amount and destination address directly on your Trezor screen. If anything looks unexpected, cancel and investigate. Treat your recovery backup with the same care you would give the keys to a safe: keep it accessible to you, private from others, and protected from loss or damage.

There is no need to rush through setup or move funds immediately. Take time to learn the device, verify you have installed official software, and understand how your backup works. When you are ready, start with a small transaction and confirm the details on-device. Good security is a series of calm, deliberate habits—not a race.

A FEW QUICK ANSWERS

Good to know.

What if I already have a Trezor wallet?

Choose the recovery or wallet access option in the official Suite setup and follow your device prompts. Never enter your recovery seed into a website or share it with support.

Should I update my device?

Install firmware only when prompted by the official Trezor Suite or other verified official Trezor software. Read the device screen and Suite instructions before approving.

Where can I get help?

Use the official Trezor Help Center and learning resources. Be cautious of unsolicited direct messages and impersonators offering private support.
